Mother’s Rights

Mothers have a special bond with their children that no one else can fully understand. Your child was apart of you months before they were brought into this world and the thought of losing your parental rights is unfathomable. The end of your marriage doesn’t have to be the end of your relationship with your children.

Gender is not a factor in determining child custody, but mothers tend to have an advantage over their husband if their child is under the age of 3. For older children, many other factors come into play when deciding on primary conservatorship such as which parent has been the primary caretaker leading up to the divorce.

Often times when children are involved in a divorce it can turn into a contentious battle. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom or a professional mother, I am prepared to aggressively protect your parental rights. Sometimes contested divorce can be resolved through collaborative law services as well as arbitration and mediation as alternatives to litigation.

Domestic Violence and Divorce

Women are far more likely to be a victim of domestic abuse than men. If you are a victim of abuse, I have experience taking swift action to obtain ex-parte protective orders against perpetrators within 24 hours. This is just one step I can take so that you receive the protection you need and can begin to feel safe again while a hearing on the matter is pending.
